Tableware, Tankards & Drinking Horns

Drink Like the Sagas

Drinking horns, tankards, and tableware from Epic Armoury are made from real, natural horn: drinking horns from 0.5 to 1.5 liters, horn mugs and cups that stand on their own, and plates and bowls to eat from, joined by pewter and wood for the full table. Every event has a feast, a tavern, or a fire with drinks going around, and this is the gear that keeps you in character through all of it: the piece of kit you'll actually use more than your sword.

The Drinking Horns

The horn is the icon, raised in every saga and every viking hall since, and the collection runs from everyday to ceremonial: 0.5 L horns in Chieftain, Druid, Earl, and Celtic styles for a session-friendly pour, the 1.5 L Horn of Jotunheim when the toast has to silence the hall, and carved designs like the Aegishjalmur, Jörmungandr, and the Ritualistic horn that make the vessel part of your character's story. Because real horn tapers to a point, a horn doesn't sit down until it's empty, which is either a problem or the entire charm. For the practical, most styles come with a metal stand for the table, and belt-worn horn holders, including a suede one, keep it at your hip between rounds.

Mugs, Cups, and Tankards

The other answer to the pointed-bottom problem: horn with a flat base. The Adventurer, Barbarian, Trader, and Vegvisir mugs give you real horn that sets down on any tavern table, the Inn Keeper and Warrior lines cover the working drinker, and beyond horn there's a pewter mug that shrugs off decades and a wooden beer mug with metal bands for the classic tavern look. If you drink at tables more than around fires, start here rather than with a horn.

Set the Table

Feasts need more than drink. The Inn Keeper plate and bowl, available as a three-piece set with the mug, put your whole place setting in character, and cutlery on a leather hanger travels on your belt so you're never eating camp stew with festival plastic. It's the last modern giveaway most kits have, and the cheapest one to fix.

Real Horn, Really Yours

Every horn is natural, which means no two are alike: size, curve, and coloring vary from piece to piece, so the horn you buy is genuinely one of a kind. Care is simple but real: rinse with lukewarm water and mild soap, never a dishwasher and never boiling liquids, and dry it after use. Treated this way, horn takes cold drinks, mead, and ale for years and only grows more character doing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these real horns?
Yes, natural horn, polished and food-safe finished. Each one is unique in curve and coloring, so yours will match no one else's.

What can I drink from a horn?
Cold and cool drinks: mead, ale, beer, cider, water. Avoid hot liquids, which can damage and warp natural horn.

How do I clean a drinking horn?
Lukewarm water, mild soap, rinse and dry. Never the dishwasher. The mugs, pewter, and wood follow the same rule.

Horn or mug, which should I pick?
A horn for fires, feasts, and ceremony, with a stand or belt holder to park it. A flat-bottomed mug if you mostly drink at tables. Many players end up with one of each, for good reason.

What size horn should I get?
0.5 L is the everyday choice: a full drink without the arm workout. The 1.5 L Jotunheim is for feasts, oaths, and impressing a hall.
